General
Many of our clients are French Canadians and we have a bilingual guide on tours for guests whose first language is French. However, even our lovely bilingual guide needs a day off here and there – but several of our guides have strong school-quality French, and will do their best to accommodate you!
No, we provide only guided tours which include the equipment rental. Kayaking in our area must be timed around the tides and paddlers who choose to explore the Bay on their own could be stranded at low tide. Weather and sea conditions on the Bay are changeable and our guides are well trained to make the necessary decisions for the safety of our clients.
Our tours are designed with the novice in mind. This doesn’t meant that the more experienced paddler won’t enjoy our tours as well!
We do not recommend that youths under the age 14 participate in our Multi-Day tours; however, we are willing to consider a case-by-case basis (with due consideration to our typical weather patterns) . Contact us for details and arrangements.
When you make your reservation, we will provide an arrival time at our kayaking headquarters. Since our tours are timed with the tides, the arrival time changes daily.
Actually it is quite rare for someone to tip over on our kayaking tours. We will go over procedures during our dry land training in the event that someone does get wet. Our guides are well trained in rescues in all kinds of conditions. We carry extra clothes to keep warm, an extensive first aid kit, cell phone and other safety related equipment.
For Surfski and Wave-riding tours, “tipping over” is a required part of the tour (so that guests are familiar with how to get back into the boats). By their very nature, surfskis tend to give paddlers a good soaking – in this they differ greatly from our regular kayaks.
It is best to see the Hopewell Rocks at low tide. You can kayak with FreshAir Adventure around high tide and visit The Rocks at low tide. There are several ways of arranging your day. We would be happy to help you with your plans.
Payment
All prices listed are “pre-tax” prices (for mysterious reasons, this is the standard method of listing prices), and the tax rate in New Brunswick, Canada is 15%. However, when you make your reservation online, the relevant taxes are added to the bill before you pay.
If you use our on-line booking and credit card payment services, a credit card processing fee of 3% of the total price, will be charged (as a credit card fee for use of this service).
If you opt to use our online booking services and pay by electronic-transfer to our account, or if you call our offices and provide payment details by phone, no processing fee will be applied.
We understand that you may not have a printer handy when you’re traveling so it is not necessary to have a printed copy. However, we may ask that you show ID matching your reservation.
Please contact us to get the latest information on your desired trip.
Preparation
Wear whatever is comfortable – with the exception of jeans or denim. Jeans are not comfortable when wet! We recommend you wear athletic clothing, water shoes, or shoes you can get wet, a fleece or layer to keep you warm, and sunscreen. It is preferable to dress in layers.
Not much, remember our trips are all inclusive. We do suggest you bring comfortable athletic clothing, water shoes, or shoes you can get wet, a fleece or layer to keep you warm, and sunscreen.

Yes. Reservations are required for guaranteed spots on all tours. Reservations help us determine the number of guides we need to ensure that our groups remain manageable and enjoyable, and they allow us to notify you of changes to the tour due to weather or anything that could disturb the tours.
