Combining a short training session with a gentle two-hour paddle, hike and picnic, this family-friendly adventure has something for everyone. Guests who wish to try their hand at sea kayaking without wind, waves or a three-hour commitment, will love the Molly Kool Paddle and Riverwalk.
Guests will launch across the river from Molly’s house. Born and raised in Alma, Molly Kool was North America’s first woman Master Mariner and Sea Captain. She spent summers working about her father’s ship the Jean K as it plied the Bay of Fundy, taking over as Captain when she received her Masters Certificate.
The Molly Kool Paddle and Riverwalk follows the sheltered waters of the Salmon River Saltwater Estuary. You will paddle across the estuary before turning up-river with the rising tide and coming ashore on a small island at the top of the delta. There, you will disembark and enjoy a short walk along the rocky shore before breaking for snacks. Our guides will explain the history of the area (and Molly Kool of course), some of the estuary’s amazing wildlife, and finally tell you why the Bay has the world’s highest tides. Kids and parents alike will enjoy splashing in the fresh waters of the river as it meets the salt waters of the Bay.
Our 3-hour Molly Kool tour is a gentle activity and is excellent for all ages, from two-years and up.
A great trip for nature lovers and new kayakers who want to enjoy an adventure with no muss, fuss or stress.
