A 10km guided coastal sea kayaking adventure along Fundy’s wildest shoreline

Matthew’s Head, a striking red-rock headland on the edge of Fundy National Park, marks the turning point of our signature coastal paddle. From our launch in Alma, we follow ten kilometres of rugged shoreline shaped by the world’s highest tides, travelling beneath cliffs and past quiet coves in one of the most dramatic stretches of coast on the Bay of Fundy.

The pace is active and rewarding, with time to explore hidden beaches, learn the science and stories of the Bay, and feel the quiet satisfaction that comes from travelling under your own power.

Midway, we land on a secluded shore for our signature Tide Talk and a well-earned break featuring home-baked snacks and drinks before continuing along the coast.

No experience is required: just curiosity and a sense of adventure.

Before You Book – A Quick Note for Families

All guests paddle in stable tandem (two-person) sea kayaks.

Youth are paired with an accompanying adult, and in most cases adults should expect to provide the majority of the paddling power. This 10 km coastal route is active and can feel like a workout — especially for adults paddling with younger partners.

Older teens or exceptionally strong youth may paddle more independently, but this tour is best suited to families comfortable with a longer, more energetic adventure.

If you’re unsure which tour is the right fit, we’re always happy to help you choose.

Welcome & Outfitting

We start with a friendly overview of the route, conditions, and what you’ll see along the coast (in English and/or French). Personal items can be stored securely on site.

You’ll then be fitted with a PFD (life jacket), paddling jacket, and any additional gear you need. Dry bags are available for phones, cameras, and extra layers so everything stays protected.

3

Kayak Setup & Instruction

Once geared up, we match you with your kayak and adjust the foot pedals for comfort and control. Your guide will walk you through a short, relaxed lesson covering paddling technique, steering, and simple safety skills.

Even first-time paddlers feel confident within minutes — our stable sea kayaks and experienced guides make it easy.

Spend the next three hours exploring the dramatic coastline of Fundy National Park — paddling beneath sandstone cliffs, along quiet beaches, and through the powerful tides that shape this remarkable place.

Whether calm and glassy or lively and energising, every trip is an authentic Bay of Fundy adventure.
